Rox Event Planning Early Weeks

Welcome to the official blog for Rox in the Park, which in 2019 brings you Rox Spectacular, themed around the infamous 2001 classic “Moulin Rouge”. This event will be a spectacular spectacular experience for all the family.

The Rox charity has set out challenges to overcome over the next 8 months and as a team, we plan to overcome these through the event.

Firstly, they want us to promote the good work and brand image of Rox within the Bognor Regis area, which should include the execution of a strategic publicity campaign within schools, colleges, social groups and societies aimed at the residents of Bognor Regis. So, to be able to do this we will look at the demographics of the region and the best ways to reach this audience. This will be looked at in more detail in future blogs.

Secondly, we were set the challenge of engaging schools, societies, university students and community groups in an interactive, competitive and fun filled event. We plan to achieve this by making our event attractive for people to attend, volunteer and perform at.

Finally, we were set the task of providing a leverage for Bognor businesses, community groups, societies and residents to show off their talents, work and achievements. As a group we are looking to hold meetings with businesses and see how they want to be used within the event, creating a two-way relationship.

For the past 4 weeks, our group of 6 has met up weekly to achieve this. Our discussions centralised around the objectives for the event, incorporating this into the “Moulin Rouge” theme and creating a ‘wow factor’ for the overall event. The team has looked at the ways in which the Rox event can be used as a springboard for small businesses and also how societies and community groups can engage and attract more of a following.

We are extremely excited as a team to have the opportunity to create this event, working with the community and creating the most enjoyable event for all involved, from guests to sponsors. Over the next few months leading up to the event, there will be regular updates as to what the team are getting up to. We all look forward to seeing you all at Rox Spectacular, either as a visitor or as a volunteer.
